Visual Journeys Through Marin

Every season, every hour of the day, Marin County reveals a different face. Marin Scapes documents these transformations through curated visual galleries — organized not just by location, but by the mood and moment each image captures. This is Marin as experienced by the people who walk its trails, paddle its bays, and watch its light change from dawn to dusk.

The Headlands

Where the Pacific meets the Golden Gate, the Marin Headlands offer sweeping views of San Francisco, the bridge, and the open ocean. Batteries carved into cliffsides, wildflower-covered hillsides in spring, and hawk migrations in autumn make this one of Marin's most photographed landscapes.

Bolinas & Stinson

The western coast of Marin alternates between long sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. The village of Bolinas, famously resistant to signage, hides behind its lagoon while Stinson Beach stretches in a wide arc toward Steep Ravine.

Point Reyes Peninsula

An entirely separate tectonic plate from the rest of Marin, Point Reyes feels geologically distinct — the white cliffs at Drakes Beach, the wind-sculpted cypress trees at the lighthouse, the tule elk herds roaming Tomales Point.

Inland Valleys

The sheltered valleys of San Geronimo, Nicasio, and Lucas Valley offer a gentler landscape — oak-studded hillsides, seasonal creeks, and horse pastures framed by the ridgelines of Mt. Tam and Big Rock Ridge.
